बहुत समय पहले भारत के एक शांत और सुंदर गाँव में पुंडलिक नाम का एक लड़का रहता था। उसके माता-पिता बहुत ही धार्मिक, दयालु और सरल स्वभाव के थे। उनका जीवन भक्ति और सदाचार से भरा हुआ था।

Long ago in a peaceful and beautiful village of India, a young boy named Pundalik lived with his living parents. His parents were religious, kind and simple. Their life was full of devotion and goodness.
बचपन में पुंडलिक एक चंचल और होशियार बच्चा था। उसे दोस्तों के साथ खेलना, नदी के किनारे दौड़ना और पेड़ों पर चढ़ना बहुत पसंद था। लेकिन घर के काम या माता-पिता की सेवा करना उसे उतना पसंद नहीं था।

एक दिन जब पुंडलिक अपने माता-पिता के पैर दबा रहा था, तब अचानक घर में एक दिव्य प्रकाश फैल गया। पूरा वातावरण सुगंध और शांति से भर गया। दरवाजे पर स्वयं विट्ठल भगवान खड़े थे।
भगवान ने मुस्कुराते हुए कहा, “पुंडलिक, तुम्हारी भक्ति और माता-पिता की सेवा से मैं अत्यंत प्रसन्न हूँ।”
पुंडलिक ने भगवान को देखा, लेकिन उसने तुरंत सेवा छोड़कर प्रणाम नहीं किया। उसके लिए उस समय सबसे बड़ा धर्म अपने माता-पिता की सेवा थी।
उसने विनम्रता से पास पड़ी एक ईंट भगवान की ओर सरकाते हुए कहा, “प्रभु, कृपया इस ईंट पर खड़े हो जाइए। मैं पहले अपने माता-पिता की सेवा पूरी कर लूँ। मेरे लिए यही सबसे बड़ी भक्ति है।”
English:
One day, while Pundalik was massaging his parents’ feet, a divine light filled the house. The atmosphere became peaceful and fragrant. At the door stood Lord Vitthal Himself.
The Lord smiled and said, “Pundalik, I am very pleased with your devotion and service to your parents.”
Pundalik saw the Lord, but he did not immediately stop serving his parents. For him, serving them was the highest duty.
He gently pushed a brick towards the Lord and said, “My Lord, please stand on this brick. Let me first complete my service. This is my greatest devotion.”
🌼 Bhagwan Ka Intezaar
हिंदी:
भगवान विट्ठल मुस्कुरा दिए। वे उस ईंट पर खड़े हो गए — दोनों हाथ कमर पर रखकर। वे अपने प्रिय भक्त का धैर्यपूर्वक इंतजार करने लगे।
पूरा घर दिव्य प्रकाश से चमक रहा था, लेकिन पुंडलिक शांत भाव से अपनी सेवा में लगा रहा। उसके लिए माता-पिता की सेवा ही सबसे बड़ी पूजा थी।
जब पुंडलिक ने सेवा पूरी कर ली, तब वह भगवान के चरणों में गिर पड़ा और भावुक होकर बोला, “प्रभु, आपने मेरा इंतजार किया, मैं धन्य हो गया।”
भगवान ने आशीर्वाद देते हुए कहा, “पुंडलिक, तुमने संसार को सिखा दिया कि माता-पिता की सेवा ही सच्ची भक्ति है।”
तभी से विट्ठल जी की मूर्ति ईंट पर खड़ी हुई दिखाई देती है।

Lord Vitthal smiled and stood patiently on the brick with His hands on His waist. He lovingly waited for His devotee.
The entire house glowed with divine light, yet Pundalik calmly continued serving his parents. For him, serving them was the highest form of worship.
After completing his service, Pundalik fell at the Lord’s feet and said emotionally, “My Lord, You waited for me. I am blessed.”
The Lord blessed him and said, “Pundalik, you have taught the world that serving one’s parents is the truest devotion.”
Since then, Lord Vitthal is seen standing on a brick.
